The Marine World
Announcing ‘Marine World’
‘Marine World’, our established Outer Reef platform, is located at the Eastern end of Moore Reef. ‘Marine World’ is a purpose-built two storey platform 45 metres x 12 metres featuring Spacious Lower Deck with Ample Undercover Seating, Upper Sundeck with Sun Lounges, Underwater Observatory, Children’s Safety Swimming Enclosure, easy access to the water for snorkellers, Moon Pool for ease of access for divers and Fresh Water Showers.
Travelling time (to and from) ‘Marine World’ is approximately one and a half hours each way. We offer our guests 5 full hours at ‘Marine World’ to experience unlimited snorkelling - all your snorkelling equipment and instruction is provided, Interactive Semi Submersible Tours and all the facilities of ‘Marine World’. View the daily fish feeding from one of the decks or the Underwater Observatory. Even if you aren’t getting wet, you may still see our resident Maori Wrasse, “Wally” and many other colourful reef inhabitants through the glass of the Coral Viewing Vessel or the Underwater Observatory.
During your trip to the reef, our friendly and professional crew provide information on all the daily activities available at ‘Marine World’ plus an informative Great Barrier Reef presentation by our Marine Biologist. Complimentary tea and coffee on boarding, Morning Tea (muffins and cake), Afternoon Tea (Fruit, Cheese, Dip & Crackers), and a sumptuous Hot and Cold Buffet Lunch (including prawns) are also included.
So Much to See and Do

Introductory Scuba Diving
Taking you diving for the first time is Reef Magic’s specialty. We offer this first time diving experience at very competitive rates - $80 for the first dive and $50 for a second dive. An introductory dive requires no experience – our friendly, highly qualified instructors will give first time divers an underwater experience they will never forget. There is no better way to experience the Great Barrier Reef! (Minimum age restriction 12 years.) Certain medical conditions (e.g. asthma, epilepsy, high blood pressure) may exclude people from diving. Please check when booking. A medical questionnaire must be completed onboard.
Accommodation
- Cairns
Cairns is a vibrant cosmopolitan city famous for its lush tropical rainforests and close proximity to the Great Barrier Reef. Shopping centres, restaurants and nightlife are all closely located in the city centre.
There is a huge choice for accommodation from bed and breakfast style, caravan parks, hostels, motels, self-contained apartments and 3-5 star hotels. The prices vary greatly if you want ocean views, inner city or outer suburbs. The Cairns international airport is just 6 minutes from the city centre and most attractions can pick you up from your door.
- Cairns Beaches
There are 7 main beaches spread within a 35km radius from the Cairns City where accommodation such as resorts, apartments, B&B's, caravan parks and villas can be found.
There are many car rental companies or public transport that ensure your stay is comfortable and close to all the activities you wish to do with many tour companies able to pick you up. From your accommodation at the beaches you can do a little or a lot, it's your choice.
- Port Douglas
Just 70 kms north of Cairns International airport lies the tropical village Port Douglas. The township is located alongside the famous four-mile beach and is a perfect base for tours north to the Daintree wilderness or out to Great Barrier Reef.
There's accommodation to suite any budget with a variety of choices from caravan parks and holiday villas for families, backpacker/ hostel accommodation, self contained apartments and deluxe resorts.
- The Great Barrier Reef Islands
Green Island and Fitzroy Island are easily accessible as day trips from Cairns or as overnight stays. Green Island boasts an environmentally friendly 5 star resort on a small coral cay surrounded by the coral reef.
Fitzroy Island has a number of options from camping in the national park, dormitory style or beach villas. Parasailing, snorkelling and sea kayaking are just some of the activities you can enjoy on your stay.
After your morning activities a full hot and cold buffet lunch is served. Complimentary morning & afternoon tea , coffee and cakes are also included. Our fully licensed bar will keep you refreshed at all times and also sells soft drinks, ice creams, snacks and a selection of souvenirs.

All equipment is provided and a highly trained instructor will be by your side throughout the dive. Introductory dives are subject to medical history - medical declaration to be completed onboard vessel. Reef Magic Cruises also provide an onboard photographer who will capture for you all those magical memories and first time experiences on the Great Barrier Reef.
Certified divers can expect to see some of the best dive sites the Great Barrier Reef has to offer. Experience spectacular wall and drift dives away from the platform. Modern high quality dive gear with computers is available for hire onboard, or you may bring your own. All our dives are guided by one of our highly trained and professional Dive Controllers.
- Wetsuits are also available for hire.
- Highly qualified staff will assist you at all times, assuring maximum comfort and safety.
- With 5 full hours at the reef, up to 3 dives per day is possible.
- Our Dedicated Dive Tender can take you to a different site each dive, and include wall dives, drift dives, isolated bombies, coral gardens and swimthroughs.
Apon arrival at 'Marine World', you will be provided with quality snorkel equipment, complete with instruction. Friendly crew will assist you and free snorkel lessons are available. Then join our Marine Naturalist for a personalised and informative guided tour of the reef (optional extra activity).
Snorkel sites are supervised and swimming aids and flotation devices are available allowing all to experience the magic of the Great Barrier Reef.
Semi Submersible Tours:
Our Semi Sub is another magical way to experience the reef and is excellent for non swimmers. Tours include a fun, interactive and informative commentary. This activity is included to further assure guests gain the maximum Great Barrier Reef experience.
Underwater Fish & Coral Viewing Observatory:
See the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef without getting your feet wet! Our Fish and Coral Viewing Observatory, located underwater (on the lower level of 'Marine World') is open all day and is a great, interactive way of learning about the Reef and it's inhabitants in all weather!
Payment Policy
A deposit is payable at the time of confirmation. Balance of payment is required at check in.
Cancellation Policy
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
- Cancellations made 4 days or more prior to departure attract no fees.
- Cancellations made less than 4 days or a no-show the balance is still payable and will be processed.
Passenger Levy
All Fares are inclusive of taxes and levies. This includes EMC of $5.00, Port Charges, other Government Charges and an Administration Fee.
Fuel Levy
Due to fluctuating Oil Prices, a Fuel Levy may apply at the time of check in.
Departures
Daily (excluding New Years Day) at 9.00am from Marlin Jetty - Cairns Esplanade.
Transfers
Port Douglas Coach Transfers: Return Coach Transfers from Port Douglas are available. Charges are in addition to the above prices (ex: Marlin Jetty) and are non - commissionable. (Adult $40) (Child - $20) Per Person per day. Pickup from Port Douglas hotels starts from 6.30am and drop-offs at approx 6.45pm.
Cairns: From City hotels from 7.55am and drop-offs at approx 5.30pm.
Northern Beaches: From Northern Beaches hotels from 7.25am and drop-offs at approx 5.45pm.

The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vessel. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking, you must complete our no-obligations reservations enquiry form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your enquiry, we will contact you via phone or email, to advise of availability and confirm the final price is correct - and discuss payment options. A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation notice and at this stage the deposit is processed on your credit card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
Please note we accept Visa and Mastercard and the credit card fees are:
1) 1.75% for the deposit amount.
2) 1.75% for the balance of payment.
If you are booking via phone, please first make sure you have read the terms and conditions of your selected sailing adventure. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental, trip or charter services.
Amendments
Please check the terms of each vessel to see whether amendment fees apply. Please also note that for some vessels an amendment is treated as a new booking and the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). In the case of boat rental/yacht charter, if the hire or number of days is increased, an additional deposit may be required, while reduction in rental periods or price may reduce the total, but the deposit amount will remain unchanged.
Vessel Capacity and fitness to charter (for Bareboats only)
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vessel you charter is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of passengers allowed is indicated next to each vessel on this website. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A boat or trip supplier can refuse to hire a vessel to any person who is in their opinion unfit to skipper or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
